Sweet Lake, Bitter Lake was conceived under the influence of numerous personal experiences and socio-political events. The title was derived from an Adam Curtis film, but the material is heavily marked by a myriad of other large and small occurrences transpiring in author’s life and in the broader social arena. In terms of ideas behind it, this release carefully balances between hopefulness and realizations that tragedies happen every single day. For some of us, life quietly goes on in this heavily media-altered reality, for many, it just grows in its turmoil and injustice.
